Toys 'R' Us preparing for possible bankruptcy filing
What do you think of this? If true it doesn't mean they are going out of business but in this day and age with the Online competition it could be the kiss of death for a brick and mortar.

if they do it is gonna suck i remeber back in the day my early childhood and my early collecting days they used to sell hypercity and it was awesome but they stop maybe they lost some profit................-Otis

Yeah, I think this'll be the second time in about 15 years they've done this. Unfortunately, this isn't limited to just this company but is a general trend in store front retail.

Ooooooo, this isn't good. I have had a lot of memories with toys r us. I remember in the Motor Road and Rail days at my local Toys r Us they had a huge Display and the whole front of the store was dedicated to Thomas. It was amazing and as a kid I adored it. Shame that this is rumoured to happen

For me it doesn't really make a lot of difference, I have a local Toys R Us store near me (I'm in the UK), but their stock sucks. They always have plenty of the generic stuff you can get anywhere, but usually at higher prices than other stores unless it is on special or something. Very rarely you see any of the 'exclusives', even if you go on the website 99 times out of 100 the 'exclusives' are always sold out for online purchase and can only be 'reserved' yet the stores that have them are 100 miles or more from me. So all in all I won't really miss them if they were to go as I can't get anything that I can't get anywhere else anyway!

When i was a kid toy r us sells bulky items. They dont reflect the needs of the market.

I hope it's not a complete collapse, and that they're able to keep a few stores open... The ToysRus on Times Square in NYC is the most amazing toy store in the world!! 1000x cooler than FAO Schwartz...it will be a real shame to think of a world without that place:/

TRU Time Square closed down two years ago. We were able to take Evan there before it closed. But it looks like they reopened just for the up coming holiday based on this news story.
