HAKONE TOZAN RAILWAY SERIES 3000

My new Hakone Tozan has arrived today! I waited for an hour in "social distanced line" in front of the post office to collect my package, but it was worth it! Very happy to have that beautiful little red train!

It's a two speed train, and speed 1 is not too fast. No holes for windows and doors (i like completely closed cabin), and the railcars are not too long so it can pass the middle tunnel on Dokidoki mountain, which is great.

I like the original too, it's a very special mountain train; there are some great YT videos about this railway. Too bad I probably never gonna ride it in real life, but at least the Plarail model is finally on my layout!

It is one of the most forgotten trains around due to the light blue opaque windows, a lot of people said that the opaque windows are a disappointment as they are expecting clear blue windows. It is good that forgotten trains are coming back here.

Well, it shouldn't be forgotten, Vio, it's a really nice train with a look and good performances (realistic speed). Both model and original are exceptional and unique trains! As for the opaque windows on the Plarail model, I really like them that way (because that reduces/eliminates the dust/dirt collecting problem, and it looks better). Would clear windows be better? Well, they would be more realistic, true, but this is Plarail, they are using imagination and that's good! And I don't expect it to be hyper-realistic. I like to live in a really good cartoon. Big Grin

The new Enoden Plarail models have black windows, Blue Sky Train Keikyu's windows are light gray, etc. I like when they play with the colors in that way. On the other hand, this is certainly better than just holes for windows, as many trains have. And it's a colorful train, you just can't feel bad when you look at it or run it! Smile

@ Super: I'm glad you like it. It's the central part of my layout, the center of the city and a good place for train spotting! Smile

If I'll change anything on my layout, this is going to stay that way, it's really eye catching. I recommend these RMZ houses, they make the layout alive.

But I have a problem with my new order from eBay. I ordered another train and the seller cancelled my order and explained that is currently not possible to ship from Japan to my country due to coronavirus. Also I noticed that many japanese sellers all of a sudden don't ship to Europe. All my "saved for later items" overnight got labeled with: "Does not ship to..."
I'm worried, is the situation in Japan suddenly got worse? Anybody knows what's happening? I hope it's temporary...

Not saying it is all bad, it just lacks detail without those transparent windows. Now most windows are opaque black. If you look at Meitetsu Panorama Car, Panorama Super, first generation Skyliner, Nankai rapi:t, you can see that the windows are translucent. It hints that it is supposed to be a window and not just a black piece of wall. Holes are sometimes needed, say if a train carries Plakids or has interior design. Some trains look as cartoony than others that way, it will look great depending on your taste and layout feel.

Japan is getting much worse, JP Post is not resuming postal services.

PLARAIL HAKONE TOZAN RAILWAY SERIES 3000 VIDEOS

According to Hakone Tozan Railway official page, due to the effects of Typhoon 19 (Hagibis), the Hakone Tozan Line between Hakone-Yumoto and Gora Station is under a long-term suspension...

But a smaller version of Hakone Tozan Series 3000 ("Allegra") runs on the other side of the globe along with other little red commuter trains:
