Looking good there Sun, while I think of it, have you got any PlaRail Advance? I hear 'rumours' that they will run on 'N' gauge track as well as the blue track, I've been meaning to try it out but at the moment don't have any 'N' track to hand. If you got an 'advance' could you try it out and let me know?

The next thing you should look at is the Tomytec Moving Bus system, you could then integrate that into the layout. If you not seen it check it out, absoultely brilliantly detailed little 'N' gauge buses which are motorised (2 x LR44) that run autonomously on special road without grooves/slots in it. They can even be made to speed up and slow down by placing small magnets under the roadway and you can get 'bus stops' which they will pull into automatically and either stay put till you push a button or alternatively will pause then take off again all on their own - again controlled by magnets.

You can also use the motors in most of the buses that Tomy make in that scale so its easy to find ones that suit including some older styles that would fit in with Thomas Smile

thanks, nigels. no, i dont have any advance yet, but ive heard the same rumors.

i have seen the bus system, but theres no room for it on the baseboard. essentially, there will be a 1 or 2cm gap between the track and edge of the base. the interior will be filled with scenery.

have bought a few capsule items... cranky, bulstrode, harold and a few other bits.

Are the Capsule items N scale?

very close to it, super. the only things that may be off are the figures of people like the fat controller, mr bubbles etc, but in true n scale you wouldnt even see them as characters, just "people".

this is james with capsule tunnels and the snowman truck. [plans to mount the snowman on a tomix chassis]

I have been looking at a snowman Capsule guy like the one you have but didn't know exactly how big he is. You had a similar idea as I thought I would take him off and make a neat custom wagon for the Xmas Tomy train.

he would fit in a tomy truck, but you would need to secure him as he will be lose and move around a bit. in saying that, you could fit 3 side by side in a truck if you shaved a little off the base first. facing forward though, only one will fit.

Hey you could convert some capsule wagons to N scale fairly easily I think

@Sunhuntin

Any chance you could take a picture of that snowman wagon like next to a regular troublesome truck or a flat car so I can see exactly the size compared to what I want to do?
