Yeah, I thought they were pretty cool too, not cheap admittedly, but as you don't have to permanently install them they can be moved from model to model so the cost isn't quite so bad. In the past any of these sort of things I've seen have been permanent wired in solutions and more to the point dedicated to 'scale model' type trains that draw their power from the tracks.
I also checked out the videos before posting the links, and I agree the steam one is more varied, but there again diesels in real life tend to be a bit like that and only the revs really change.
So how many do you reckon AC's ordered already?!?
