Weird Thomas Coupling

Hey all! Was looking through an auctioning site and came across this Thomas:

It seems odd because the back coupling is different...maybe from a specific set? Or a replaced coupling?

Thanks!
Just based on the photo, it looks like someone "customized" a normal older version of Thomas by replacing the back coupling with then coupling used on the engines with motorized tenders (Molly, Murdoch, Hank, old Emily etc.). The Clarabel coach in the photo looks to be the longer version that came with the Steam Along Thomas (with motorized Annie). Keep in mind that version of Thomas had the wired coupling so that the Thomas and Annie were permanently connected. That's all I got on this one.
the blue metallic thomas has that coupling system. I actually harvested that coupling once to replace a pair of coupling.

If thats just a self powered Thomas, my guess is that his coupling was replaced with maybe the only one the owner had around which is what I call, a Push coupling.
