2008 Tomy Trains?
#16

And yes, Eurostar is in Tomica World UK.

What about the Virgin Trains' Pendolino? I keep seeing it on the internet but am not sure if they are a part of Tomica World.

Am I correct to say that this Virgin Train was only released in the UK market since it is a real train there?

Here is a pic of the underside...oops...better get rid of those dust bunnies Dodgy

Funny that it was imported from Thailand, and the black rubber is original?

I added the black rubber and the black couplings. I am assuming that they used the same chassis that the similar looking Plarail trains they released in Japan but I don't have any more of those to compare it to..

Like these to name a few...I think there may be a couple more but not sure. A yellow one?

Here are two additional ones with the same body from page 93 of the Plarail Bible...the trains look a little distorted in the picture as the book is not flat but they are the same as the Virgin.

The Tomica World Virgin Train #8465 is supposed to represent an Intercity 125 DMU, which is a bit of a stretch of the imagination since it is modelled with an electric pantograph on its roof. The mould is identical to the 1989 Plarail Kintetsu Urban Liner (as suggested by Super above) which itself appeared in Tomica World guise in the TW Large Set #7421.

Plarail always seems to be a bust when TOMY tries making it in the States. Yeah, Tomica World lasted a few years but it ended up fizzling out. Tomica HyperCity only lasted about a year.

I think Tomica World fared much better in the UK than the US.

Yellow is Ise Shima from the First Try Set Yellow.

And I'm not sure why the forums stated I asked about the "Pendolino". It was wonge who asked, not me. Did somebody edit my quote without my permission?

Yeah that was me by accident. I don't know how to get a users quote if they've already quoted something in their post, ill try to fix it.
