Tomy Thomas with front coupler

I saw a what seems to be a normal Thomas with a front coupler. It does not look like a custom, but from the pictures it is hard to tell. I was wondering if anyone knew what it was.

Here is a link to a photo of it.

It may be the reversing Thomas.

Here is Ucwepn's video on the set...

Forward and reverse engine... Cool!  I'm seeing this for the first time...
They could do that with some other trains, especially with one car units, like trams, the Hiei, the Negotiator etc. Smile

My thought first went to how easy would it be to adapt this motor to other Plarail trains that use the Thomas type motors.

Yes, it is the forward/reverse version. However, Ucwepn tried it and the drive unit was slightly too long compared to the normal "Thomas type" (we need better terms for the drive units). As such, it can't fit in regular engines. Good thing the tinfoil piece method and Mr. Motorman can make normal ones go backwards.

Wasn't Ucwepns try with another Thomas shell and not in other Plarail engines (non-Thomas) that use the same Thomas like motors?
