Ok, first up we have my latest addition to my growing 'Advance' collection, the "Kintetsu Premium Express Shimakaze";

Then in the 'normal' PlaRail scale we have a Eurostar I picked up reasonably cheaply off eBay;

Overall the Eurostar is in pretty good condition and runs very well, a few little touchups with a little acrylic and it will be good as new.

As for the 'Advance', maybe if I can pursuade myself I could feel a few 'un-boxings and running trials' coming on - Nigel

At first, we weren't too crazy about the EuroStar's look with those large gray panels on the sides but over time it started looking better. Took a long time before we purchased one and now it is one of our favorites and like you say a nice runner. It also looks like a good candidate for a light modification. Wink

The Kintetsu Premium Express is very cool looking for an Advance train, I like it.

Thanks for sharing and look forward to any 'un-boxings and running trials' coming up. Smile

Funny you should mention light modifications Super, I was thinking exactly the same what with the existing clear perspex headlamps etc... it is almost crying out for it. The only thing putting me off a bit is the fact that they are not so easy to get hold of cheaply, although having said that I do have a spare trailer from that big batch I got recently so maybe I'll use that to prototype the idea and see where it goes.

Curiously I got some other nice goodies this morning the S-13 "Zoo" train standard PlaRail and one of the Tomy illuminated Stop/Go signs, both are very cool Smile

I thought you might like to see some pictures of the 'Zoo' train as it is quite spectacular, although it is only stickers affixed to the train, the only thing I wish Tomy would do is use tampo printing or similar as it would make them way more detailed and resilient.

Anyway onto the pictures.

What is a good price on the zoo train? I have not purchased this type before, but found one for $25 U.S. Shipped. Is that a good price?
I paid £14.74 from a seller in Japan who was advertising on eBay(UK), that included shipping. So I think at current exchange rates that was about $20

They can be purchased from Amazon also if you do a search Smile
