Thanks Mr-No
Another JR Kyusho 800 Series Shinkansen with a Disney Wrap.

To my knowledge this is essentially the same train now released 6 different times I believe.

2004 Original 3 pc train release
2011 6 pc train (our favorite)
2017 re-release of the same 6 pc train as 2011 with updated chassis and motor
2019 6 pc Mickey & Minnie Wrap Red
2019 3 pc Mickey & Minnie Wrap Yellow
and now this
2020 3 pc Pixar Wrap

I am assuming that this is modeled after a real JR Kyushu 800 wrapped with Pixar graphics.
I am all for collaborations and sponsored versions of Plarail trains as they are mostly really neat and sometimes unique and limited but another JR Kyushu 800 is a bit of a ho hum for me as I long for something new in a train not just a new wrap. All things considered though, I am always glad to see a new release from Plarail as it means they are still interested in making trains.

This seems to be the only picture of this train on the entire internet. It's from a news release by JR Kyushu dated August 17th, which says the first service of the train will be on September 12th. This year marks the 25th anniversary of the release of the world's first full-CG animation movie, Pixar's "Toy Story".

A YouTube video of the unboxing of this month new release: Evangelion Special Edition Musky.

It is interesting that this new train has an old type one speed motor and the old style clipses on the body for battery insertion. Battery is R14 / C.

Last year release Meitetsu 2000 Nagoya Railway Musky also had clipses, but it was a 2 speed train:

Thanks Mr-No

Yes, they do re-use the old style 'C' battery chassis on some newer released trains. Don't know exactly why unless its just easier and more efficient to re-use the body mold and chassis from a previous release. It is strange though because both Hobby Search and Amazon state that it uses a 'AA' battery.  This new release does have the 2 Speed motor though.

Oops, my mistake. It is a two speed motor - there is that blue symbol on the box:

KEIKYU NEW 1000 TYPE YELLOW HAPPY TRAIN (again)

It's a limited edition, they will sell it only in some Keikyu stores, some Seven-Eleven shops, and a few online shops starting this friday (and the next one in some other Keikyu stores).

I have it with silver doors, but there was also yellow doors variant...

Nothing much new that I can see (the windows are now black, not gray; minor changes in lower part of the front...), but this new one will have, however, two speed motor (and a screwdriver will be needed for battery exchange). Price: 2.700 JPY.

The MTR Airport Express is coming back too... As a solo train and in two different sets:

Thanks for the heads up Mr-No

I could be wrong but wasn't the first versions only available in China? Can we assume that these are the same or is the re-release for the Japan market?

The MTR set looks nice, especially that tunnel it comes with. And at least it still has the old type drive unit which is great to see in my eyes

The stations in both set (Station on the curve and the double station with doors) are also interesting, and different from regular stations of that type... Double station is based on the real Airport Station. The Tsing Ma Bridge is also nice. Smile
