while checking out ucwepns youtube, i found the link to here. i remember being told about it ages ago, but for some reason never checked it out.

many of you here likely already know of me, i run the "suns thomas and friends" site, and have been a collector for over 20 years, starting with the 80s dark blue track. in 2009, i bought a bulk lot of tomy thomas, then i followed that to trackmaster and, more recently, started learning about plarail. a slippery slope indeed!

im looking forward to learning more from the members here, and also sharing what knowledge i have.

Your Forum name sounds like you may be tired of winter [Image: nod-yes-smiley-emoticon.gif]. I would like to take a look at your site...do you have a link for us. You have been into this a long time, wow. Your knowledge will be invaluable for members now and in the future and a great addition to the experts already here. What country do you hail from?

welcome to the fourm
Welcome to the site sunhuntin, it's great to have another member here, were not a massive forum but were all active members, post some pictures of your collection up? It would be great to see what you have, when I found the site I was looking for a forum so I googled 'ucwepn' and 'forum' and found here!
thanks, all. Smile

super, thats been my handle for over 10 years now, since the msn group days. its my username for ebay and youtube, and a few other sites in between.
im from new zealand, so we never had a great variety available, so the internet has been my best friend in that respect! despite the lack of availablilty, i managed to pick a few things up at thrift shops that i knew were tomy, but not what they came from. one example being the hippo/aligator drawbridge from europark.

tramp, good that you are all active. size doesnt matter, its the content. you seem varied here, what with covering mods, take n play etc.

my site is here: http://sunsthomasandfriends.weebly.com/

thanks again! looking forward to reading some more.

Wow Sunhuntin

That is a fantastic web site. So much to check out I have to go back and browse around some more as there is so much information and things to look at there isn't enough time in one visit. Love the Club house, sure wish we had something like that. Would be great to have a place like that to hang out and even a fine place for youngsters to visit to get interested and have them be a part of something to keep those young minds occupied and out of trouble. And a nice kitchen too! I don't see any reason to ever leave the place. How is the addition coming along? It looks to be about a 33% increase in space. And you say there use to be a ride-able scale train next door with that awesome tunnel. Shame its still not there.

Question...Did you have to install extra bracing in your house to keep the ceiling from crashing down due to all the weight of the massive train collections you store in the attic? Holy cow...thats a lot of stuff.

LOL super. no bracings, the house is old and built solid. everything is placed over rafters and the heavy bits [track and engines] are spread out in several areas. as we clear out more "junk" from up there [toys from the niece and nephews etc], the trains will spread more to furthur ease the weight placement.

as for the clubrooms, the extension hasnt moved any furthur. we are working to raise funds currently, through public open days and appealing to various grants places.
it is hoped once the extension has been built, we can look at maybe working on getting the outside track replaced and running again, but maybe with a more basic circuit. just recently, one of our old engines was offered to the club to buy back. we couldnt afford it, but an associate has bought it and will loan it to us for display.
if we do get to that, it will take a lot of work as its not maintained at all and badly overgrown. just doing the plants would likely be several weeks work.
this is the club site, partially maintained by me, with the club president doing most of it. http://wmrandes.weebly.com/

thanks for the comments on my site. its a bit over whelming isnt it? LOL. too much stuff, hehehe.
