Is this something that was actually in use? Rivarossi Shunting Tractor https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E-ZwbmiOd0g

I can't find much about a real one but there seems to be a picture of a real one but I am not sure. I have seen pictures on model railway layouts that are so good I swear they are real. If it is real, how is it powered? http://www.modelrailforum.com/forums/ind...ng-Tractor

Absolutely real Super, these and other larger types of rail tractors were/are often used by industry to shunt wagons around private railyards/sidings used by industry, they were more cost effective than hiring/buying a full size shunting locomotive, these days though it is much more cost effective to use Tractor trailers by road and most private yards/sidings are now disused.
Thanks Ucwepn

That is an awesome HO video of this and I am amazed that something this small would be able to pull so much weight. Reading a little more into the link is seems it is driven by either a diesel or gasoline engine with a sprocket and chain drive. I have never seen the likes.
