Japan Auctions 1st Time to See This!

As buyers we have all remarked about how we dislike the Yahoo Japan Auctions Automatic Extensions that take effect at the end of bidding. Good for selling but not so good for buying. I know this must have happened but I have not seen it...a listing without the extension. So it must be an option that the seller has to choose at the time of listing although I don't see why any seller would opt not to have it, strange!

Maybe because then people have to go 'all in' with their bids because if they don't they run the risk of being sniped and if they really want the object they will potentially bid higher than if they could just sit there trying to out-wait the opposition (i.e. more poker like) or maybe the seller is just a tit Big Grin

All in bets are only good for just over the last highest bid so if I bid 3000 yen at the end and the last bidder only put in 2000 I would only be responsible for 2010 for the win. As a seller I wouldn't think it would matter how long it extended as long as bidders were out bidding each other. I must be missing something as an advantage for a seller.
