plarail talking diesel 10

ok, so the first question tht comes to mind is...
you keep mentioning other t-n-a talking trains?
y is tht?
second, those termials r not tht uncommon.
am i missing something?

my question is this...
how hard is it to replace the cab of diesel 10?
when it applies to a t-n-a diesel 10?

do measurements apply? do details in regards to this model apply?
so on.. and so on...

All of the TnA trains can be somewhat difficult to repair. I bring up the other ones because I have expierencied different issues with different ones. This is an attempt to give you an idea on what you "could" be in for. Not knowing anymore info on the D10 that you are looking at it is hard to say how difficult it would be to repair it. Does the person selling it specially mention it doesn't work or say what happens when the try to make it work?

Regarding the battery terminals, if you can find "new" replacement ones I would be indebted to you..Big Grin. Seriously, I have looked high and low, far and wide for these things. From the US, UK, and finally finding some on one site in China. As far as being in trains, they may not be uncommon, and I have stripped them from a few different models to use in TnA repairs but would love to just have brand new ones to use.

Replacing D10's cab should not be too bad, but are you talking about taking it off and then putting the same one back on or actually finding a replacement cab. The only difficult part which is not too bad on this model is getting the wires tucked back in.

Hope this all helps...Big Grin

Yes Ripley is THEE MAN!! He has mastered the model.
The T'nA's are the most complex, finicky, delicate, trains ever made in this range too...and yes, I would agree that of them all, that James, for whatever reason, seems to be the least dependable, with the most problems, and one of the most difficult of them to repair.
Play nice & have fun!!Smile

hmmmmmmmmmmm.......
decisions decisions!
now i am almost compelled to get this train.
maybe i should get a test model?
i've got to see about these terminals.
i'm very interested.
i recently took a peak at jauce.
which -to me anyways- is a complete monopoly.
havent been there in awhile.
very hard to navigate.
interesting about james being so difficult- out of them all? why is tht? especially given tht fact tht tht the formula should have been established.
was james the last release in this line?
I have a British accent James that needs work, It ran poorly so I took it apart to clean it and put it back together and it still runs poorly lol.

Talk n Action have a distinct coupler on them which is the easiest way to tell, but the other sign is the on the bottom they have an activation mechinisim. They use the short green pieces of track. You mention D10 which is a Japanese accent, there was rumor of an American accent I believe but never has been found to my knowledge.

Regarding the train you are looking at/ trains to decide on. You don't have to give a link or any other info on it, but is it for sale directly from someone you know or is it on an auction site, etc.. even if you can get it broken for a decent price it is likely fixable.

the american is a myth.
second: the coupler mechinisim. not tht different from the steam thomas? yes/no? define plz.
third: did the japan release of diesel 10 come with its own track?

Yep they are different. The steam Thomas has a "closed" type connector with sort of "pegs" that connect into holes where as the TnA connector the wires are exposed and there are "holes" that connect to pegs.

The D10 I have in the box was not BNIB but did not come with track. I think Muddy has one or two BNIB D10's.

Here are some pics of the shell off D10:
