You mean once recorded from the train? That would be cool. Not sure if it streams or maybe on an SD card possibly. Have to take a closer look soon.

Well all the YouTube videos seem to show the onboard video so there must be a way. I don't have the new fangled Phones (still use an old flip phone) but isn't there a way to either send your content to someone or download it directly to your computer through say a USB cable?

I would think that for a translation it would be helpful if you can find out if there is a Downloadable Manual from Plarail in like a PDF or Microsoft Word or some other Word Processor Software even in Japanese. That way you could copy and paste into an Online translator and make yourself an English Manual. Heck maybe there is translation tools already in the PDF or Word Processor programs.

I downloaded the app from the Google Play appstore, it's there to be had and also supposed to be on the Apple store if you sad enough to buy into the Apple scam Smile

As I understand it the video is streamed to your phone via wi-fi, so it should be possible to record it to memory I would have thought, although it would be great to find some instructions in English. You also control it from the phone, so effectively its like the console things but on your phone Big Grin

Myself I've just not had time to tinker, too much crap getting in my way these days to just have fun with stuff, so its sitting there on the shelf staring at me saying "come on play with me" but I'm sure I'll find time soon Smile

Yep I have apple..Big Grin. I had no luck funding it in the App Store then again the one I did find was for a whistle control train and was in Japanese so it did not show in an App Store search only in a google search. I will keep digging..

The app seems to work. Here cover page translation. The middle seemed to mess up will have to recapture the picture.

Finally found the app.. it can be downloaded from the links here:
http://www.takaratomy.co.jp/products/pla.../index.htm

There is a catch it seems for those (like me) who have an iPhone/iPad. It tries to download from the US Apple Store which doesn't have the app. So it takes you to the Japan apple App Store. I can see the app, I say get/install and then am told my account only works in the US App Store.. Grrrr.

Plan B was to use the only Android thing I have which is a Kindle, but that failed too as the play store doesn't appear to work on that. I can get to the web version but no luck as it says no device found which from searching suggests that an app must be downloaded from the Play Store at least once from the device..

Woo hoo.. partial success..Big Grin

So I found this for the apple people out there:
https://www.labnol.org/software/install-...ore/13523/

I was able to get the app installed on my iPad. From there I can use my phone which has the google translate app on it to try an fumble through the app. The google translate app is rather cool. It is sort of like a magnifying glass only translating in real time. It is somewhat hard to get all what what is there but you can make out where to click in most cases. Like Yes, back, agree, etc...

That said, I did not get the app connected to WIFI, which has a few more steps to do. I was able to see a brief view with the controls to go, stop, horn, and lights..

Hopefully more soon..

If we could get an app developer to translate and re-deploy the app in English that would be awesome too..

Good luck with that, you'd need the source code, if you had that it would be a breeze to do, I wonder if any one has written an app de-compiler yet? Such things used to exist in the old days for normal code Smile
