Imaginarium Power Rails

Anybody have experience with this?
.
I am considering it as an alternative to Trackmaster stuff, rolling stock only or everything.

I like that it can/does interface with wooden track, and that the trains run on wooden track as well. It does look like one might have to use this track for inclines, but the rest could be wooden track.

We like the remote control and sounds aspect, but since I have not heard it that my not be very good sound. in the short video in this thread it does not seem bad:

thx for any feedback!

Hey there. While I do not have any expierence with Power Rails I was at Toys r us this past weekend and was quite impressed with the selection they had. The style of engines seems quite nice as well. I took a pic as I was thinking of researching them a bit more. Big Grin

I think these, with a quick coupler swap at the very least, would be better than the wagons pictured above:

Or at least the coaches anyway. Could probably make a lot of cool customs with them too
The coupler can be converted relatively easily with a screw driver and a set of these couppler

The engine is too tall to clear the Tomy tunnels.

the thing I hate about this new series is that the track connector is not the same as the previous version.
leylandvictory2,
i thought working with the wooden track was kinda cool though. but, i will say that at the Tpy R Us we were at this weekend, it seemed they had on package of the older style sets. I thought it was odd that they had Power Rails with two different kinds of track, then saw your post referenced above.

what do you think about the locomotives and their control system?

any and all,
does anyone know anything about Fisher Price EZ Play Track? Seems it is discontinued as well, our Toys R Us had many boxes of track/sets for $9.99 each.
I only played with the locomotive once. Kids will have a hard time inserting the batteries into the train. The locomotive is a bit fragile. Again you get what you pay for. I purchased another set and gave it to my friend's son. he loves it.
They are really not designed for Tomy/trackmaster/plarail system like the previous generation (too tall). Can't clear certain tracks. See the videos below.

I think Lady is suffering early stages of cracked axel syndrome... I'd get that fixed if I were you before it gets worse.
Yea my solution is to harvest the motor from percy or thomas
Thank you Leyland. Excellent videos which show these on Tomy and Trackmaster tracks. I didn't know they were R/C with forward and reverse.
