3D Printing Daisy's Shell for TOMY BoCo's Base

Hey everyone, I am currently using a software to 3D print small objects for my work - then I got the idea the other day that how cool would it be to 3D print new shells for engines which haven't been made before!

I was wondering if anyone could give me all the dimensions of BoCo's shell using a calliper (an accurate measuring device)?

Hi, yes I do have some (only a month's worth). Before I started 3d printing I used to customise my Take Alongs with enamel painting varnish.

I have a caliper and would help if I could but my only boco shell is heavily modified and rides on a shinkansen chassis now.

You could try, and I suppose it would be a lot easier since it's just a Plarail shell as opposed to a super detailed video game model or a scale replica.. But just know the ins-and-outs of Shapeways first, and faces will take a LOT of practice.
While you're at it tho, if you will, maybe a Diesel 10 chassis would be a better choice or a possibility for an alternative? BoCo isn't exactly the easiest thing to get anymore, but Diesel 10 is still made and sold in retail, and is far cheaper and more common.

Side note Diesel 10 is hands down one of the worst diesels (his character, not the model).

Diesel 10's chassis is actually quite different from BoCo's, which is why I suggested it. I could easily get a spare Diesel 10 new-in-box for 20 dollars or a used one for 10 or less from eBay, as opposed to BoCo, who would be much harder to find, and at least 20 dollars used (from experience).
The ends of Diesel 10's chassis, if I remember correctly, are rounded whereas BoCo's are straight, and the little holes where the shell snaps into is in a slightly different position. There are some other differences that are more difficult to describe via text, but I might be able to get pictures later.

I was actually planning to commission FlyingFordFalcon to make a 3D-printable Daisy. He's a good lad and he's a very talented artist and modeller, and already has some stuff on Shapeways, including a Bachmann Old Shape Henry body shell.

Hah, I think quite the opposite about his character. Diesel 10 is a really fun character to me, especially since he's the only truly evil engine character in the series... At the same time that makes it difficult to write him into anything other than a dark and edgy setting where he's actually doing some sort of harm, or a lighthearted comedy where he makes a fool of himself whether it be due to a shoddy evil plan, or just letting his temper and pride get the better of him. (Guess which one makes me love him more!)
