Our most recent eBay score arrived today!!
This was one of the greatest bargains, considering what it is, and its pristine condition, that I've ever found...maybe the price 3 Lg. lattes from a Starbucks with extra whip cream! Big Grin
...and it really is one of the loveliest too.Smile

I never understood why the Funfair Special pack included the narrow-gauge Refreshment Lady's Tea Coach, but hey, glad it was made at all!

The refreshment stand has always been a part of our layout...it's currently in service at the fairgrounds right next to the Ferris Wheel.Wink I have always regretted opening this particular pack up long ago, so this new one will now forever remain bnib!

Are you going to open it?? Rosie can't make her carnival delivery without those trucks! Wink

Also why would you buy a duplicate of something you already have if you're just going to put it on the shelf?? In my opinion, that is a waste of money. Its like a person buying a second car even though they already have one and don't need another, but they buy another just cause they have money. Even though I am a collector too, in my opinion buying duplicates to just put on my shelf is silly - you did say your collection is complete so I am confused why you feel the need to buy excess, just an observation. If you have the box of an item and the item itself, there is no point in buying a new unopened one of it cause you can just repack the already opened one and it will look pretty much identical.

I don't see it as a waste of money at all B'Stat and I certainly don't see anything silly about it. Just because a collector doesn't do exactly what YOU think is right doesn't make it wrong. So I am "confused" to see YOUR need to criticize how any other collector works their collection and find your remarks silly..

I happen to have 2 of the Refreshment Stands and a third new in the box like Muddys that I will not open........do you think I am stupid and wasting my money?

What would you say to Jay Leno who has hundreds of cars in his collection but drives a simple Monte Carlo around town....is that a waste of money and silly?

B'Stat, I will try and keep this on point..
First of all, though "your opinion" is yours to have, it is about as important or as influential to anyone else, as say, what kind of cheese burger you think tastes best.
I dont think I need to, nor do I think that you are deserving, or entitled to an explanation, but to answer your question, I opened the set that I had purchased long ago..and threw away the box, long before I ever took collecting seriously.
This piece tends to be hard to find and fairly spendy when found BNIB...(here learn something) An investment is buying something for cheaper than what it's current market value is, speculating upon its potential for future increased value.
So if someone offered you to sell you something that you collected that was worth $75-$100, and they only wanted $19.99 for it, IN MY OPINION YOU WOULD BE AN IDIOT NOT TO BUY IT!!!

I was considering getting those trucks too, they were at a great price too! Glad it went to somebody here.
