with thanks to super.... christmas set!

no pic yet, have to get to a meeting. the massive trackmaster christmas set with the light up buildings and skating rink arrived today, after super was kind enough to buy it off ebay for me.

havent been right through the box, but im delighted with what ive seen so far.

will update more when i get more than a minute to spare, lol.

the box also has parts of the icy overpass track pack, minus the risers. there are also 3 things missing from the main set: the christmas presents, the lamp post from the skating pond and the snowman from in front of the school house.

the ice pond, station and toy shop all light up with flashing lights, and the station plays jingle bells! didnt know that until i got the batteries in, lol. thomas looks great and the trucks are amazing.

im totally in love with this set and have started redesigning my christmas layout to fit it in. for the first time, i will mix trackmaster and tomy so i can still use the auto transfer station and big green bridge.

RIGHTY-O HERE WE GO!!!!! finally got photos this afternoon.

first up, plarail boco. i got this from blair a while ago and havent done anything with him. he is the same as the tomy boco, but i took him for the box


ok, ok no more teasing...

at the skating rink! it has 3 lights and the skaters rotate, powered by thomas. missing the lamp post


toy shop. the sign rotates, also by thomas power, and theres a light in front. missing the presents.


station. the tree lights up in sequence and then flashes. the lights on the building flash, and sir topham pops out and says various phrases. it also plays a round of jingle bells, punctuated by peeps. theres a switch on the back to shut this off and just have the lights.


school house. no lights, and not attached to a track piece. missing the snowman


thomas and his trucks. the box car has a different sticker on each side. the plow is from the tomy set. forgot to take it off for the pics.

Is that a rare Boco? The box says both HiT and Tomy.

The children at Xmas will really enjoy that set when you set it up at the club.

im not sure on rarity. i just like the japanses boxes, lol. maybe geris will know?

for sure the kids will love it. im taking it tomorrow or thursday for running night, and a friend will likely bring her son along, so will test run it with him. boy, i wish it was december!
i have noticed thomas has a bent front axle, so will have to do a body swap if i cant straighten it. not a biggie, thankfully. darn triangle screws. going to have to get a driver to open them.

The Triangle screw drivers are aplenty on Ebay here in the States Have you tried a search in your Ebay or maybe Australia's? I bought a set similar to this one many months ago and it works out perfect with 4 different sizes. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Triangle-Mini-Sc...27dba7d6a6

do the thomas engines have different size triangle screws?! i was looking at a set from the seller who makes the black couplers, i think that only comes with one size.

I am not sure about all the Thomas ones but the ones I did work on the engines for used one size. Other trains do have some different sizes like the Skyliner I just added lights to. It uses 2 different size triangle screws on its chassis.

man, that sucks. sheesh! dont they want people to repair these toys or something? LOL

What you have as far as the Boco is the pre-Takara, Tomy Sky Blue railroad packaging. I Dont know if Boco was ever released post Takara merger, if not Boco is out of print making it harder to find in box.
