K Mott's Mods- some ok, some Hacks!

here is a simple headlight added to this train.  I got the train on ebay, I forget the set.  I didn't want to buy the whole set just to get the train.  I also put in a new motor but I think it has a resistor in it.  at that point I had exhausted my skill set.

Here is the first lighted coaches I did.  I had a couple of these "East" shinkasen trains that have the headlights so I added a 3V light to each one and then used connectors to connect one to the next.  in the 2nd iteration I chose to just put a 3V button battery (CR2032) in each coach... why? because a 5y/o and 3y/o don't really understand that the connectors aren't meant to act like a whip to swing around the car.  at any rate, take a look.

I got a Bumble Bee James a while ago and it was trashed.  I finally put it back together.  Also, it was missing the coal cover so I bought some of this ABS stuff on ebay, cut it the size of the coal cover and then just taped it in place.  works just fine.

here is a building mod that I did (inspired by Super, who did a much better job).  If you're wondering why a building would have flashing lights?  cause that's what 5 year olds dig. And the choice of decals is just to amuse myself.

I am loving all that you have done Kmott, brilliant! Love what you did with the button battery's and the placement of an on/off switch on the coach. I have been meaning to try this method out but never got around to it but you have now inspired me to do it.

You idea of how to replace the battery cover on Bumble Bee James is fantastic and it looks great.

That blue engine is from the Discovery Kids set https://www.blueplastictracks.com/showth...hp?tid=298

I am loving how your station turned out especially the signage on the back wall. Are those decals, they look great?

Great work on all Kmott [Image: baseball-boy-thumbs-up-smiley-emoticon.gif]

so here is a police train.  I think its from the Hyper City but not 100% sure.  I looked online and couldn't find anything.  the doors that open broke so I painted them blue on the inside so you couldn't see the battery and glued the broken one in place.  As Always, I totally forgot to take a BEFORE pic.

here is another building. painted the roof with yellow, then glow in the dark pain, windows, bench, some decals, I also added flickering lights in the smoke stacks (look like fire)

Before:

After:
painted, added lights and switch to each using a 2032 3V battery.

This was sort of my inspiration:

for the 'windows' i used some of these:

Again, I used Super's inspiration but then got cheap!
