something interesting i found yesterday

yesterday i was visiting a local antiques fair, and i found something very unexpected.
two meccano pulleys, the same as they used for bessie the engine’s driving wheels in chigley!

i would have gotten some of the smaller wheels too, but the chap i got them from only had one of the eight i’d need.
i don’t know if i’ll ever attempt a replica, but they’re good to have around as a “just in case” ;]

might as well mention this too since i always do eventually. these wheels are not actually the first trumptonshire prop i’ve owned, as back in february i was lucky enough to come across dr mopp’s car! it’s the pride and joy of my small collection, and i’m glad to have it. it somehow even still works after all these years!

(and yes, that’s the same dr mopp as my username 😉)

i’m working on a replica puppet of the doctor to drive the car, turns out they’re actually quite big! 21.5cm to be exact 😬 [Image: F79614-BE-B99-A-42-B4-94-A1-9-AA4186189-EB.jpg]
