op shop finds and ride on train

7 Replies, 6795 Views

hit the thirft stores today, hoping to find something decent from the pot-christmas throw outs. didnt get much, just one bag after spotting freddies flat deck.

thought the little train might be a choro q. the hypercity piece was a surprise, and i didnt see it til i opened the bag. needs both couplers replaced. the flat deck is from HIT set "freddies ding a ling" and is missing the little red bicycle.

the hypercity is different to the one that came with the engine set. it has no couplers, leading me to think some one had it open and removed the cherry picker and other ladder.

nice finds, they closed the biggest op shop local to me Sad
chris, thats a shame!
we are lucky... theres about 6 shops i hit locally, and if i travel 45min, theres another 3 or 4. wouldnt mind getting to them this week, but dont trust the bike to make the trip there and back.

yes, needs a lot of work with the motor, something about the cam chain. its a big job and will cost a couple thousand. would literally be cheaper to buy a new one, but been with my girl since 07, and tens of thousands of ks around the country. just a little attached.

super. thanks.

won this on jauce last night for 3300yen. didnt know it existed until 2 nights ago, makes me wonder how many others are about. surprised i havent seen one with thomas stickers yet. lots of thomas ride ons, but a different style/make to this range.

the plarail anniversary one i have, whenever i take that to the club, 6ft tall and likely close to 100kg paul gets grouchy when i refuse to let him ride it. they are big, but not that big!

personally i would love some correctly scaled trees and tunnels, just like the tomy ones.
