Converting Harvey into a DMU

Thanks Chrisjo

The problem I have with the white decal sheets is the cutting them out as it is too hard to make perfect cuts around the finished print leaving uneven or ruff edges. Why would you use floor polish?

Various uses described here.
Thanks Chrisjo, I didn't know that. It says it resists most solvents and yet simple window cleaner will remove it. Have you used this and if so how did you apply it?

Ammonia = window cleaner (if I remember rightly. Is that what it says?). By airbrush for a clear gloss coat, by brush for seating decals, or by dipping for clear polystyrene or acetate glazing pieces - like this:

Kewl...is that your model copter? Did you use it on the cockpit glass and can you really see the difference before and after? I am going to give it a try with brushing over decals. Many thanks.

Yes it's mine, 1:72 scale on an OO/HO trailer; yes I used it on the cockpit glass inside and out; and yes, you really can see a big difference.
Awesome model. Did you weather the motor like that?

Impressive progress George!
Proud owner of Tomy/Plarail trains. Cool
Okay, I think this is it for now. I'm somewhat reluctant to try making my own transfers, as I don't think any home printer has the resolution required to create a British Railways Roundel detailed enough to look like anything other than a 'blob' when reduced to a minisculte 5mm wide! I will see if I can order a sheet of waterslides from somewhere.

Anyway, here we are. It's a very simple model with minimum detailing, but I think it will look good flying through the flowerbeds in the Garden come summer. What do you think? Anything else I ought to have done?

The only improvement I would make now is to try and get another stretch annie / clarabel carriage from the smoking Thomas set, to turn this into a four-car train, which I think would look better. Haven't seen any on ebay yet, though.

Excellent. I think she will look great running around the garden. Hope to see a video of it then. Thank you for the entire pictorial of the mod, I enjoyed it very much.
