well, my plan on having a mint one sealed didnt pan out. left them on the floor and stepped on the best one, popping the glue on the blister. so the hunt begins for a replacement.

got this off a local auction site last week. its thomas from the abandoned mine set. i got the whole set for about $100, not bad as the prices on ebay seem to be rising,

Even in the short time I've been interested in the Tomy ranges I've noticed an upward trend in prices for the Tomy product even for 2nd hand items. Whereas the newer Trackmaster 2 product just doesn't seem to sell on eBay. I wonder what this is telling us about the state of the market?

or perhaps the trackmaster 2 products are extremely easy to get within your communities.

No, not really, in terms of outlets its very difficult to even get Trackmaster 2, the only viable source seems to be Amazon or eBay. Argos has a very limited range, "The Entertainer" chain stocks a limited amount. But so far that's about it, even when I checked in Toys 'r' Us I couldn't find any.

What I was trying to get at is in the eyes of the public they seem to want the tomy product (even if 2nd hand) more than Trackmaster 2, in other words they want locomotives that work on the track they already have rather than either having to replace the track (if you can find the new stuff) or having to modify the locomotives. Which lets face it apart from us on here the majority won't modify rolling stock. Call it stupidity, but they expect the new stuff to work (on any track) out of the box Smile
