Suzukawa un-boxes the latest released action Scenery pieces from Plarail. I especially wanted to hear what the Windmill sounded like as one is on its way to us for the 'Future World' Collection.

Does anyone know if plarail are going to release some engines from the journey beyond sodor because I would like to see them create the engines frankie and Merlin. Just want to see if there is any confirmation on plarail producing any engines from the journey beyond sodor. Also plarail could release Ashima as she is appearing in season 21 of Thomas and friends.

I agree.. a Plarail Merlin, Hurricane, or Thomas even from the Journey Beyond Sodor would look awesome most likely. I sure hope they do.

It would be interesting to see Tomy's version of these characters. My son managed to get all three Trackmaster engines from Journey... and to be honest, they don't seem to run very well. Merlin, in particular, tends to derail easily and is finicky about running on blue or tan tracks.

Tomy had mentioned a battery powered Ashima in a list of future releases I'd seen floating around earlier this year. That's far from anything official but considering how popular the character seems to be, it would be a shame if a Plarail version wasn't produced. Heck, I know both my kids would want one!

Tomy will release items in the Plarail, Capsule Plarail, and Tomica ranges to do with Journey Beyond Sodor next year as that is when the movie will be released in Japan. I say that there will be characters from that movie out but I have nothing to base it on, only that I believe at least one of them should be made.

Hmmm.... I kinda like the platform. I hate to say it but none of the trains in this series of releases really did it for me. Maybe the Yamanote train with the giant hamsters on board?

If anyone's seen the new JBS Thomas line, what's your thoughts? I think they're getting really lazy. The fact that TM2 Lexi looks better than Plarail Lexi is really sad to say the least. Merlin looks okay but isn't motorised as of now, and also as of now, only Hurricane and Steelworks Thomas are motorised, while Theo, Lexi, Frankie and Merlin aren't. I hope some of these are only prototypes, but that seems unlikley.

I presume most of these are Tekoro and my son seems pretty excited about them. But yeah, I’m pretty indifferent to what I’ve seen so far. Theo and Frankie are the only ones that are intriguing to me.
