Plarail TOMY Thomas NEW RELEASES

When I speak of details I am referring how there is so much embossing and deep embossing at that. Details get lost when they are flat or the embossing is shallow...at least to me. This train would look great with some milky white window glazing with just enough light inside to make it glow

Looking at the real one in your picture...the Plarail has more detailed embossing and looks better LOL. Does the real one have that lillac color on the roof too?

Depends on the formation, roof can be differently coloured. The silver roof is more common though.

Some formations really do have some kind of purple colored roof, but the color is much more discrete then on the Plarail model. Also pantographs and other stuff on the roof are silver, not purple...

Btw. it's a new train. Here are some informations from jrailpass.com (Sept. 13, 2019):

The West Express Ginga: The Futuristic "Galaxy" Train

JR West has announced the launch of a new train which will link the Keihanshin area with a number of stations in the Sanin and Sanyo regions in western Japan. The Ginga train will launch in spring 2020.

The concept of the long-distance train is based around interstellar travel. Ginga means ‘Milky Way’ in Japanese, and the trains route along the western regions will represent the stars spread throughout the galaxy.

The futuristic design of the West Express Ginga will include a long stripe on the side, symbolizing long-distance travel and the dream of visiting exotic, faraway destinations. It will be lapis lazuli, a fantastic shade of deep blue which resembles the sea and sky.

The blue color is very nice indeed but seems to be muted somewhat by that roof color. A silver roof color may have made the blue 'pop' a bit better though imo.

I always watch Suzukawa & kids videos, they are really nice!

As for this GOGO station, it would be better if they made plastic (with stickers) information panels on the flyover. This cardboard ones won't last. Also, now we can clearly see the station is too short, the platforms are enough just for the first car. I wish they make this kind of stations with platforms that have more realistic lenght. Plus, I really miss the stairway on the other side: the flyover leads nowhere.. How will the passengers reach platform 2 & 3?  Big Grin

But I suppose this station will be very popular with little kids (and some bigger ones!), as they can control trains separately with dedicated levers and the big one releases all trains at the same time. Also, lights on the clear "tunnels" are changing accordingly, and the sounds can be adjusted for steam trains, commuter trains, shinkansens or freight trains, I guess. Sounds, lights and personal engagement of the little station managers: that's fun!  Smile

LOL...because that platform is attached to the clear archway on the left...it looks like its floating in air. Maybe those are round blue vacuum tubes where passengers step in and are sucked to Platforms  2&3. Big Grin

What I always find questionable is they make so many places for PlaKids to connect on sets like this but include none with it. Do they assume that everyone has extra PlaKids laying around? I would find this acceptable if Plarail offered packs of PlaKids for sale say in 5 or 10 packs. They don't have to be special ones, just the generic ones that are the most common so the others are still collectable. What if these are parents just starting to buy a young child Plarail toys and the Child says they want to play with the station like it is shown on the box with lots PlaKids....what do they tell them? Sorry honey...you can't have them because Plarail doesn't sell them. Come on Plarail...help the poor child out.

Oh Super, I just imagined that and can't stop laughing! Big Grin

You're absolutely right about the plakids, Super. They are 3 plakids included with J-28 station, but only one with J-25 Station on Flyover, and there are several places on that station that are intended for plakids - in front of the elevator, the newsstand, in front of the ticket machine, by the fence, two places on the platform etc. And no plakids with GoGo station with so many places for plakids?! They really do have strange policies regarding plakids...

On the other hand, many new trains are now with plakids (Twilight Express - 3, Train Suite - 2, this 2 latest - 1 each...) so I think they want to say: "If your kid asks for more plakids - just buy more trains!"  Big Grin

So in conclusion: with at least 5 plakids, plastic information panels instead of cardboard and with a few inches longer platforms - I would call it a great station! Cool

New Seibu 10000 will be released on Monday, July 27th (general sale starts Saturday, August 8th).
It's a limited edition (of course! most commuter plarail trains lately are!) and it will sell in a certain shop at a certain train station, and on certain web shop of a certain company! Smile
