Thanks Mr No

The new one is quite different than the original.

Yes. When I first saw the new Maglev train, I thought it's just a somewhat different colour scheme, but no: there are many little differences between them.

So, there are now two Plarail Maglev trains... But we mustn't forget about the LINEAR LINER, the Tomy's Maglev train model that really levitates using magnetic force. If someone like this train, why not go for the real thing? Big Grin

Not Plarail, but here are new Capsule Plarail pendants and a Cargo Jumbo for Tomica cars:

the cargo jet looks familiar.  Didn't Tomy released one earlier?

Also there is Tomy's copyright sign at the bottom of the picture...

My guess (not always the right one) is that its smaller than the regular Tomica Cargo Jet for the 1/64th diecast vehicles. I say this because the Ad says "Pocket" which I am assuming could also translate to 'Mini' which, as we see in the video below, is a smaller version of the Tomica cars. Pocket could also be why there is a 'P' in front of the model number on the boxes....thoughts?

Trivia: The Hankyu 1000 has never been released in the S-nn numbered series before. It replaces the Enoden 500 as S-47.

Hankyu sure looks great, and 225 Series Special Rapid Service has really nice station announcement sound, and I have them both and like them very much, but come on! They were released on October 27th 2016, and March 16th, 2017, respectively, and they are still selling everywhere. So why on earth is a re-release so necessary? There are dozens of other commuter train we commuter lovers would want to see (also re-releases, but not so recent ones). Enoden 20 or Osaka Loop Line with the new motor would be just fine, for example, thank you.  Angry

EDIT:

Now we have more information and pictures, and so we know Series 225 Special Rapid will lose it's best feature, the nice and rather unique station announcement and stopping sounds (you can hear some of them in my last year's video here). Instead, it will now have "the special connection" (the ability of coupling two trains together):

The number is the same, S-42, so the old sound trains will go out of production.
Also, the sound model had two speeds, and the new one will have the newest Plarail one-speed-motor.

I didn’t find any differences on the Hankyu 1000, so it remains unclear why they decided to re-release just that latest train from 2016, and not some of the earlier Hankyu train models that haven’t been in regular sales for a long time.

As for Shinkansen Series 500, it will have "the light of great power":

I can't tell the difference here, because the previous 2014 release also had the lights (maybe the light is now stronger?).

Shinkansens are not my cup of tea, but the fans had some complaints - the colour blue was supposedly too dark on the 2014 model:

The colour of the new one does look a bit brighter, but of course it could be just different light conditions:

It will have the same "S"-number as the previous one (S-02), so the 2014 model of the same train goes "out of print".
