Plarail TOMY Thomas NEW RELEASES

By the time they do release a diesel, expect Takara Tomy to use the all engines go version of him.
See that's what I thought but I don't think TOMY is going to bother with completely redesigning their lineup only a few years after they finished retooling Edward, Henry, Gordon, and James.

"see ya around!"
Takara Tomy is in re-release business for quite some time. It would be a wonder to see anything really new in their production... Big Grin

It is sad to see this, but in all honesty, with Mattel sinking the Thomas brand down the drain with the reboot (which is preforming awfully as to be expected), it's hard for Tomy, or any toy company really, to want to continue on with new releases and new toolings when the future of the brand or show the toolings are based on comes to a hard stop. The Japanese side of Thomas is essentially a year behind the English territory releases, so as much as I desperately want a Plarail Sonny, the fact that Tomy can see the series essentially doesn't continue after S24 would make sense as to why they wouldn't bother making new tooling's for characters that won't appear in future...

Why was plarail diesel discontinued so long ago and was never re released? He's a very prominent character. Also,
on ebay bnib plarail diesels have been sold for years now Where do they get them from? Could they be counterfeit???
Train it, plane it, you name it!
Nice unboxing video of the new long container train w/EF200.
And no, it's not the new chassis, it's the old 1C battery locomotive, so RC interchangeable chassis or reversing chassis can't be used...

I agree, that is a good video. I would have preferred a different color for the chassis but beggars can't be choosers as I am happy for anything new and different. Mine have already shipped. Thanks Mr No Smile

Seibu Railway 40000 series (2021 version), limited release, 11th December, at various Seibu railway outlets.

Comes with 4 different rolling sign stickers (for S-TRAIN Seibu-Chichibu, Semi Express Ikebukuro, Haijima Liner for Haijima, Express for Motokawakoshi), otherwise it appears at first sight to be a re-issue of the June 2017 version.

Seibu Railway has many great trains... the legendary yellow Series 101, 2000 and 9000, Series 10000 of the classics, and space-pod-looking new 001, but this one is... just not something special. If it had to be a re-release, they could choose a better one...

And they re-released it after just 4 years, as a limited edition again? Why release it so "exclusively" (at two stations and in Seibu online shop) in only 1000 copies, when the market is covered with the same product released not so long ago? These destination boards seem to be the only difference between this and 2017 model. I think we should open a "New Re-releases" thread for Plarail trains...  Dodgy
