If you have a clear shield on your motorbike you may wish to use the cleaners and polishes that work for that. A while ago I researched the plastic polishers to clean the Plarail clear tunnels and for the domes on the Knapford station and bought this set from Novus. I really like it and often use it on these Plarail trains and rolling stock when I get used ones that are scratched and could use a good polishing. And its good for plastic motor bike windshields. I have the 8 ounce bottle set but they also have the set in a smaller 2 ounce kit for less. There are tons of offerings on Ebay as well on Amazon. There are also many videos on YouTube.

thanks for that. we have a company called novus here that does car windscreen repairs. will try a couple of local shops and see if they have it. i have been wondering about scratch proofing those clear tunnels.

equals bugs in face LOL. I don't blame you, when I rode many, many years ago wind screens were for sissy's and the same with visors. Just a pair of mirrored sunglasses and the feel of the wind on your face and bugs in your teeth for my generation.

a happy biker has bug teeth. lol. i cant be bothered with them. the visor that came on my helmet only served to funnel the wind directly in my face any way. sunglasses during the day, and clears at night if its raining.

after failing to find the novus polish locally, i have ordered the 8oz from amazon. around $40NZD. hopefully will last ages and do the job.

finally had the polish arrive on monday... certainly took its time. and while there was no sticker saying so, it was clear the box had been opened, checked and resealed. the original tape used was the stuff with thread running through, so no way it could tear open due to rough handling.

the polish itself seems to be doing the job. i borrowed a drill-bit polishing pad from dad, and that has almost taken the two worst scratches out. they were on the inside, likely from the track that came away from the base and bounced around during shipping. i do need to see if i can find a small one for corners, as getting rid of one bit of scratches meant the pad has left a wide strip where its fogged it up which i cant get out.

maybe. going to see about getting a smaller polisher tomorrow. the fogging is on the inside curve of the plastic where the edge of the wheel rubbed. hoping to get rid of that since its on the front.

also will get an entirely new full size pad if i can, since it it made some scratches worse or added new ones. to be fair, its likely as old as me, and no amount of brushes and banging can get rid of everything, lol.

a dremel or similar small rotary tool has small polishing wheel attachments.

we have a dremel at the club... will have to see if it has polishing wheels with it or not. i know i avoid touching it as the cutting blades are so delicate. they tend the break before they go blunt, lol.

it is basically gone, and i had to find the remainder of the fogging to locate where it used to be.
