It is basically removing the screws on the bottom and then removing the shell. However I will caution you, the wires are stuffed in there and being old they are fragile and tend to snap off. You run the risk of going from partially working to not working at all.

hm ok if it persists i'll do it,
But heres one  thing,
he reads stuff fine, if I lean him on his back, like front in the air back on the rails and he reads them fine
should I try moving the  contacts closer?

It may be missing some weights, someone may have had it apart before.
Is that a common issue with that? Also luckily my old diesel 10 had a spare weight so i have a extra one, could you show me how a gordon with the shell off should be so i can maybe take a look, as well what screws to remove? Also should I weigh him on a scale and send it to you and figure out if its too low?

I just fixed my Talk N' Action Gordon, Swapped his drive wheels due to a broken wheel and cracked gear.
