I've been trying to get this character in so long.

Yeah I was fortunate enough to get a new in box Oliver a few years ago from a seller in Hong Kong.

He was spendy (especially with shipping) but he’s definitely one of my favs.

I was able to snag one from an eBay listing along with a couple of Thomases and a nice-looking Henry, all with their respective rolling stock. There weren't many pictures, so I was afraid of the condition of the loco, but was delighted to see that the face and the other paint details were all there. It was about $50 with shipping.

Hhhmmm, well if I decide to thin my PlaRail, now I've decided I'm getting back into 00 gauge I may soon have a couple of Olivers up for grabs Smile

The flat drive locomotives with the clutch gear axle rarely have issues with the axle gear in my experience, I have had many many in terrible condition (like have been in the dirt or sand pit) and they rarely break that axle gear or get a weak spring, the weak spot for these locomotives is the motor spur gear which can crack and cause loss of drive.

They are a noisy but very reliable drive unit.

I just got him from Japan with a Toad model. He came in the mail a couple days ago. Now me having him means having another character in my Trackmaster series.
