Thank you Jdog

I don't know if this is what the original Poster was wanting to "debate/asking" but I do appreciate the information and expertise. Smile

I think he was just asking if it was real.

No offence trevor369, but it's difficult to understand your posts sometimes. I get that there are many confusing questions and terminology with these toys, but your questions make it difficult to understand what exactly you want to know.

The Gold Thomas, Silver Percy, Bronze Diesel lineup does exist in the wooden railway line, and were made for the 60th anniversary of the franchise.

Merlin is chrome in the Trackmaster 2 range, while the Plarail is simply a silver color. Tekoro 'Metal' Thomas is based on a scene in "Journey Beyond Sodor" where metal castings of Thomas are shown.
There IS a Plarail Silver Thomas that was released just THIS YEAR in a promotional giveaway lottery, of which only 100 were produced. However it is not the image that Trevor has posted.
It is the existence of a "Bronze Diesel" that is really what Trevor wants to debate.
NO ONE has ever seen one, and there is NO EVIDENCE that one was ever made, so until such time as one can be documented, PLARAIL BRONZE DIESEL is ONLY A MYTH.

Yes, there has never been anything that's ever said there was a Plarail Silver Percy and Bronze Diesel. I wonder where that made up story came from.

i wish to apologize.

thank you jdogman for shedding some light and history on the picture i originally posted.

2008? is that true?
in addition, to that, this range(from where this train stems from) it IS NOT battery operated, correct?
Yes, Tomica, the range that the item in the picture you posted is in, is a non-motorized die-cast metal range.

Plarail is the battery powered motorized plastic train range.

And Takara Tomy is the company which makes these ranges.

You might be getting confused with the Wooden Railway range. They made set that included Gold Thomas, Silver Percy and a Bronze Diesel

I think the existence of Learning Curve's Wooden Railway Silver Percy and Bronze Diesel and Tomy's Plarail Gold Thomas may be part of the reason why someone has assumed that Tomy also made a Plarail version of those two engines. People want to believe there are gaps that need to be filled in for some reason.

Correct. Tomica products are only released in Japan.
