Thats a fantastic ride on train. Does it hold the rails well?

it seems like it will. the grooves in the wheels are quite deep, and theres also 2 roller bars underneath that look like they would fit between the rails. gotta get some batteries to try it [6 x D size]

It runs on batteries??? I thought it was self propelled.

yes, 6 d size go in a compartment under the seat. the seat flips up, and then theres a slide cover for the batteries. no screw etc to keep them from being removed by small fingers. the area under the seat is designed for storage for kids to use, so things like keys, the tv remotes, reading glasses etc.

i bought some tent pegs today to stake the track into place when on the lawn at the club. these will be kept under the seat when not in use.

This is very neat. Do the side rods move with the wheels too?

yes, the side rods move. the wheels dont free roll, so no pushing along when the batteries run out.

chucked batteries in last night. the smoke stack jumps up and down at a great rate, making a real racket, lol. will try and get a video this weekend. not sure if i will have time, as working saturday and then sunday i will finish getting the club ready for next weeks open day.
