If that's the case, why do these trains come with rubber tires on thr drive wheels?

Hi Leyland

Of course it is just my guess with what little is shown here but where does it show rubber tires on drive wheels as I must have missed that?

I went and translated the image and it seems to say this "7,700 yen (including tax) Uses 1 AA battery (sold separately)" so we can see a price and says it uses 1 AA battery. Whether its motorised or not its a 50/50 as I can kind of see a rubber tire in some shots but more over it could be for lights but that's nether here nor there. overall they do look nice and have been thinking of getting some other non-themas related tomy trains maybe  try and get a Shinkansen that I had a very long past.
I liked tomy ever since I found out about it

I am wondering where that Catalog is from and can it be viewed in its entirety somewhere?

As far as I can see the only copy "out there" is the one pictured in the hands of the Twitterer / YouTuber Omotyannerun, as he travels down an escalator somewhere in Japan.  All leads go back to there.

They're up on TakaraTomyMall now. You can get them with a loop of 'real' track for 10,117 yen (76.03 USD) each or on their own with 3 pieces of straight 'real' track for 7,700 yen (57.87 USD). I like the concept and they will definitely be popular in the adult Plarail circles but I wonder how well they'll sell....

I assume the optional squat canopy on the Romancecar is to account for going under raised track.

Thanks fellas 😃

Ahhhh...so they are motorized seeing the switch on top. Still no idea of what the size is right? Are the 'Real' tracks the same as Blue Track?

And what are these??? They look like two different engines but both have switches.
