Is Powerful Angry Gordon Really this Rare?

28 Replies, 30605 Views

yes, they are. they were released for the 60th anniversary. its not a steam along set, just a normal set with metallic coloring.
in terms of tomy/plarail, they would be #2 as far as rarity goes. #1 is a gold set, which im yet to see anywhere! powerful gordon would be #3.

depending on who you ask, this list could be completely different.

they are all rare because they were only a limited production run, I believe there are less than 500 of the Gordon produced.

Saw a metallic thomas Annie clarabel set for 325$ USD mint in box. They fetch a premium, that's for sure. sunhuntin, I know that thomas wasn't a steam along one, I wanted to get that kind of result by swapping the shells with a regular thomas. Also just found this on Jaume.com. The crown is in the jewel. http://www.jauce.com/auction/o75281451
Proud owner of Tomy/Plarail trains. Cool

that lot looks like it has just been tossed in a tub and just dumped on the table to photograph, probably not looked after and I'd hate to see how they would pack it for shipping o_O

not sure about the sellers, but when jauce packs you can elect for them to rebox. everything gets wrapped and bagged individually, with the item number taped on the front.

hello everyone & thank you for the warm welcome. I recognize some names here. I hope I'm not too out of my league. I am always amazed at the description "rare". It seems to be applied to frequently. In my opinion "rare" has to meet certain criteria. #1 never seen for sale but in existence. #2 never seen and might be in existence.#3 seen once or twice a year and in existence. after that its just hard to find...if that.

Yes $350 was a hard pill to swallow...but he's finally scratched off my listSmile
...I did.Yes it was me...considering his rarity and the opportunity to obtain him.. I had to buy him..Smile ;( Big Grin
That leaves only 2 trains left to find: Golden Thomas, & the Snowplow set..
IF Monty truly exists, and RC Spooky Stanley was actually ever released then there are 4...it's only money right?? There are billions of dollars circulating the globe but only a handful of Powerful Gordon's!!Smile $350. is less than 100 lattes...lol
Anyway I though I'd chime in with my two cents..
I will post pics when it arrives next weekSmile
Play nice & have fun!!Smile
