Tomy/Plarail Lookalikes

I can't figure out from these listings who the manufacturer is of these Tomy lookalikes to find any information. These are supposed to be the same gauge as the Tomy/Plarail and are able to run on the blue track. Did this manufacture make anything good? Its hard to see inside those packages but the trains do seem to have some level of details. Are they worth what that seller is asking and how many other replica trains did the produce? Anyone know?

Hi, its hard to tell with them boxed but the diagram on the back shows the chassis sitting very low on the wheels, if they are the same gauge they wold probably have difficulties similar to the new trackmasters (getting beached)
Good eye Ucwepn, you may be right.

Would like to try a little research. Wonder if anyone here can read Japanese to tell us the makers name?

The trains were made for Surutto KANSAI aka. Kansai Thru Pass.

Site - http://www.surutto.com/tickets/kansai_thru_english.html

The series is called "GOGO! Train". Here's the site for the 5th Series, though it says all trains are sold out:

There's a comparison video here -

Trains featured -
Plarail 3000 Series Thomas 2013
Plarail 8000 Series
GoGoTrain 10000 Series (Old Colours)

Or you can you plug "GoGoトレイン" into the Youtube search bar.

Wow...many thanks Readymade

So they do fit on the Tomy rails. The GoGo search turned up many videos. So these trains were produced by a ticket company? They did ride thru the points fine but its still up in the air if it would make it through an activate auto points or a transfer station. They are very detailed but it looks like they have those fake wheels on the body like the Chuggington trains doe which I am not fond of.

Readymade, do you read Japanese?

In this video we can see that they have a Thomas themed train

Fantastic. Great to have someone that might consider helping members with translations.

Like your Avatar. Can't make out the signage is this a rare die cast vehicle?

Thanks Super. It's an old promo for Pelikan, a pen company, from the late-50s. Vintage fountain pens are my other obsession Big Grin

More than ten years ago, I saw these tracks and trains under the DoCity name.

I bought a set. They're terrible. Nor are they compatible with Plarail.
