Plarail TOMY Thomas NEW RELEASES

Nice trains, they look great running together, thanks for the video Super.
The front and back are great and full of details, especially new beige/red Classic Red Arrow with silver details. Very similar to the original train, good job!
The sides could be better: they are very simple with no side destination boards; roof is painted gray, but the cooling equipment could be painted silver, windows could be closed and not just holes...
But all in all this trains look good. It would be nice if we could buy the Arrow in regular sale, but they are again exclusive product with restricted sale...

I would think it would start showing up in the Japan Auctions any day now.

One with the old metal gear box motor friction driven and one with the plastic gear box motor that is geared axle driven?

Sorry, I did not see this reply. I mean 2 versions of the old Red Arrow (the one in that picture). Plastic gear box with friction drive, and plastic gear box with geared driven axle.

Thanks Mr-No
I had noticed this 'new' listing but discounted it had released before, I think in March. We discussed this back in December in this Thread because it had those weird yellow risers on the sloped curves. It was shown at the Osaka Plarail Expo back in December.  Hobby Search does show it released in March of this year so I don't understand why the new listing unless it was a limited release and like the DX Series Train Suite that was first released in 2018 they rereleased it again this year. Strange, does anyone know the whys and wherefores?

I remember the set too, the new risers and everything; there was even Suzukawa's video of that set...

Not sure if this helps, but here is a part of the description (machine translation): "The vehicle design, product specifications, and set contents are the same as the "cool but full! Shinkansen N700S confirmation test car 3D layout set". The package will be renewed to commemorate the start of commercial operation."

Well that is unusual...at least to me. I assume that what they meant by " The package will be renewed to commemorate the start of commercial operation."  means the first one was not available as a commercial release.

The package is slightly different...

Thanks Mr-No
The box collectors would probably like this, the ones who have to have every release.
